Snowstorms and Vision Boards!

As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting Mountain Town in hues of pink, the air grew heavy with anticipation. The weather forecast had been buzzing with warnings of an approaching storm, and the locals flooded into the grocery stores to prepare for an evening of hunkering down. I had also stocked up on supplies for my annual activity of creating a vision board to capture my hopes and dreams for the future. I had mentioned it to Phoebe, Abby, and Charlie and they were excited to participate! We even set up a Zoom to make sure that Eva could join in.
Inside my mountainside home, we gathered around the crackling fireplace, wrapped in blankets, and sipping on our coffees with shots of Bailey’s added for a little extra kick. I retrieved magazines, scissors, double-sided tape, t-pins, and a stack of poster boards. Each person was tasked with finding images and words that resonated with their aspirations, dreams, and goals. The living room buzzed with excitement as everyone flipped through the pages, searching for the perfect elements to express their visions.
As the storm intensified, we worked diligently on our boards, and the room filled with laughter as we shared stories and exchanged insights about our dreams. Phoebe had clipped words around her career, as well as a beautiful image of an infant. Charlie had fitness and meditation images and words of healing. Abby had fashion, home, and travel images with the word LOVE in bold red in the center of her board. I added some artistic flair, transforming my board into a vibrant collage that depicted a future filled with creativity, and adventure, and of course, an image of a couple kissing, hopeful that Hot Josh will continue to be my partner in crime. Eva’s board was a stark contrast of black, white, and gold images of power-boss females owning the world!
As the vision boards neared completion, we gathered around to share our creations. Each board told a unique story, a patchwork of dreams that reflected the depth of our aspirations. The atmosphere in the room shifted from the initial excitement to a sense of quiet gratitude. The storm outside, once a source of anxiety, now seemed to echo the turbulence of life and the resilience that each of us had shown moving past things thrown our way, yet still hopeful for the future.
Until next time,
❤️ Olivia
