What Happened Next?

When I last left off in the story, the gang was still dancing at The Stall, and Hot Josh and I ducked out to go back to my house. Of course, you know what happened with Hot Josh! But what happened to the rest of the girls?

Eva was still raring to go, so Cody took her to a local cowboy bar, one town over from Mountain Town. They grabbed some drinks as Eva watched a few people try their luck riding the mechanical bull. She was fascinated by it! She looked at Cody and said, “I can do that!“. He said “All right city girl. Let’s see what you’ve got!" To Cody and the rest of the bar’s amazement, Eva stayed on for a full 2 minutes. “I bow to you oh mighty queen“ Cody proclaimed. The bartender rang the cowbell and Eva’s name was put on the board. By that time, Eva was starting to crash, so Cody dropped her off at my house with a hug, a kiss on the cheek, and a ”Give me a ring if you are ever in town again”. Eva was so pumped up with adrenaline that she stormed into my bedroom, announcing “I AM QUEEN OF THE BULLS!“, then quickly exited to fall into the guest bed. Josh and I just looked at each other with startled gazes, spooned, and drifted back to sleep.

Matt and Charlie were drenched from dancing at The Stall. Matt suggested a dip in the hot tub on the deck of his rental. Charlie did not have her bathing suit with her, so she decided to strip down to her skivvies. Luckily, she had a cute Negative Underwear bralette and panty set on. She wasn’t sure what the evening would bring but wanted to be prepared just in case. They enjoyed spending some one-on-one time together, just chatting about life, work, and the world. They touched on the subject of past relationships, and Charlie got some insight into why Matt might be a bit “gun-shy”. Apparently, his last girlfriend really did a number on him. They were about to get engaged when one of his friends confessed to sleeping with her for months. She had been Matt’s high school sweetheart and the only frame of reference that he had. He had gone on dates since and had some hookups. But always ended things before they got too serious. This was for sure a red flag, but Charlie chose to just let that slide and enjoy the rest of the evening.

Phoebe and Johnny escaped early in the evening, right after dinner. Ten years of marriage! Where did the time go? Life had been good to them, but not without its challenges. They had been trying for several years to get pregnant, without success. Eva was stressed and depressed about it. Johnny was also disappointed but tried to keep it together for both of them. Johnny has always been a grounding force to Phoebe’s “the sky is falling” moments. But tonight, was

different. VP of Marketing! What an accomplishment. She worked so hard to prove herself and was finally rewarded with a well-deserved promotion. Phoebe was already tipsy from several glasses of Rose and had a bottle of Perrier-Jouet waiting for them at home. Time to show off her recent “sexy, sexy” purchases and put them to good use!

I am so grateful for these girls and their unwavering friendship and support. And treasure each and every moment with them!
